SUMMARY:RSV Symposium 2023 (19 September)
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\nESWI is delighted to present two events specifically 
 dedicated to RSV: A Symposium on the Burden of RSV Disease (2023) and a
  one-day Summit (2024). The idea for the events stem from the increased r
 ates of RSV infections\, and from the rapid pace of new technical and vacc
 ine developments.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRespiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is 
 a common virus that affects all age groups with varying clinical effects. 
 The virus is transmitted easily through coughing and sneezing with droplet
 s containing the virus. RSV disease is a major burden in infants and young
  children and older adults\, causing hospitalisation and in acute cases\, 
 death.\n\nPrevention and treatment options could be available soon as mult
 iple clinical trials are being held and are showing a high efficacy. There
 fore\, ESWI believes in the importance of putting a spotlight on RSV – a
 nd in particular- on the Science-and-Policy interface that would govern an
 d guide future intervention strategies.\n\nFollowing up on our 2021 Webina
 r “RSV in a COVID-19 era”\, ESWI will be organising a live-streamed Sy
 mposium on the Burden of RSV Disease on 19th September 2023. Online attend
 ance of the Symposium is free of charge but registration is mandatory.  T
 his will be followed by the RSV Summit in 2024 which will also look at imm
 unisation and intervention strategies.\n\n\n\n
