Rare Disease Day (RDD), the last day of February (which sometimes a leap-day underlying the nature of rarity) is very special because it shines a light on the millions of people worldwide living with rare diseases, many of whom face challenges like delayed diagnosis, limited treatment options, and a lack of awareness. ERN-Lung was invited to participate in the referral meeting held in OKPI – Orszรกgos Korรกnyi Pulmonolรณgiai Intรฉzet in Hungary to mark this day. OKPI is already part of ERN-Lung as a full member, however, there is an interest from both parties to extend the collaboration and involve OKPI in more ERN-Lung Core Networks. This meeting was an excellent opportunity to raise awareness and the profile of ERN-Lung and provided a great possibility to learn more about the treatment of rare respiratory diseases in Hungary.
