Continued funding for ERN-LUNG secured over the coming years

The University Hospital Frankfurt and the European Commission have signed the contract for the funding of the European Reference Network for Rare Diseases of the Respiratory System (ERN-LUNG), thus securing the coordination of this Europe-wide network of experts until 2027. ERN-LUNG has been coordinated by Prof. Dr. TOF Wagner at the Frankfurt University Hospital’s Center for Rare Diseases (FRZSE) since 2017. Prof. Marc Humbert, Paris, is active as Vice Coordinator. The clinics in Paris (AP-HP) are now also receiving their own funding from the total budget of more than 3 million euros and are assuming the main responsibility for some of the work packages. ERN-LUNG is a patient-centered network of experts in which more than 100 specialist centers throughout Europe are committed to improving care and research in the field of rare diseases of the lungs and airways.
