The World Health Organization has released their 2024 update of the International Classification of Diseases 11th Revision (ICD-11). The ICD-11 is a medical terminology used worldwide to code a broad range of human diseases. It provides the main basis for health recording and statistics on disease in primary, secondary and tertiary care, as well as on cause of death certificates.
The new update expands the power and inclusivity of ICD-11, offering new features such as enhanced clinical details and streamlined mapping, all of which are freely availableย online. A dedicated WHOICD11ย YouTube channelย has also been launched, providing guidance for using the terminology.
