Do you remember?
During our Annual Board meeting earlier this year, we were asked by Prof. Valdone Miseviciene, Kanunas, Lithuania, to support the Lithuanian colleagues in their fight for access to the treatment of Cystic Fibrosis with biologicals. This is a game-changer drug combination that has been authorized by the European Medicine Agency (EMA) but – at that time – was still not available to CF patients from Lithuania. See what Valdone wrote these days:
„The journey from the first physicians’ applications to the Lithuanian Ministry of Health for the possibility to treat the most severe patients with CFTR modulators to the reimbursement of this treatment for all eligible CF patients has been challenging and has lasted nearly three years. We believe that your [ERN-LUNG’s] letter of support to the responsible individuals in the Lithuanian government was one of the important initiatives, among various others, that contributed to this outcome.”
You can be a little proud of being part of ERN-LUNG – since, without you our voice would not be as loud and convincing!
