ERN-LUNG Academy

The ERN-LUNG Academy is a curriculum for medical staff at any stage of their career, who wishes to get a proof of knowledge on rare respiratory diseases. It consists of Webinars and eCases, but also includes on-site training in ERN-LUNG Centers. We call for applications from participants of EU-member States from September to November each year. Classes start in January. If you wish to apply for next yearโ€™s class, please send a letter of motivation to info@ern-lung.eu

The EXpert Advisory BOard (EXABO) is a pan-European internet platform, which has been developed in the context of ERN-LUNG in liaison with the Medical Informatics Group of University Hospital Frankfurt, to answer questions on all aspects of rare respiratory diseases. The platform is primarily aimed at patients and care team members but is openly accessible by anyone who wants to ask a related question.

Respiratory Drug Delivery (RDDยฎ) 2026 will be held at the Westin Kierland, Phoenix, Arizona, from May 10-14, 2026. This is the latest Respiratory Drug Delivery conference in a series that has run continuously since 1988 and garnered a sustained reputation for excellent content covering all aspects of drug delivery to the lungs and nose. In-depth presentations and discussion of pioneering science in tandem with exceptional opportunities for networking will appeal to scientists, engineers, regulators, clinicians, solutions providers, and business professionals active in this exciting field.
RDD 2026 is the must-attend, international conference of the year, and with 500+ delegates present, it will be busy. So delegates do not miss anything, all podium presentations will be recorded and available for viewing 24/7 until June 30, 2026.

RDD 2026 will include:

  • Knowledge Spaces with scientific content organized by theme so that related expert presentations, workshops, posters and company exhibits are together, making information tailored to your areas of interest easy to find. Deadline for submission of podium proposals is September 1, 2025.

  • Posters highlighting the latest developments from the aerosol community, with particularly innovative posters selected for presentation in the main auditorium at Posters on the Podium. The poster abstract deadline is January 23, 2026.
  • Delegate-selectable workshops providing practical and interactive demonstrations of innovative technologies, products and services. Workshop proposal deadline is September 1, 2025.Exhibit tables and online Company Profiles that highlight resources, solutions and connections.
  • Networking events geared towards finding your next collaborator, customer or job.
  • The Charles G. Thiel Award given to a scientist who has pioneered significant developments in the area of Respiratory Drug Delivery. Nominations due November 30, 2025.
  • The RDD VCU Peter R. Byron Graduate Student Award given to a student who presents the highest quality research at the conference.Peer-reviewed proceedings available to all registrants.
