ERN-LUNG Academy

The ERN-LUNG Academy is a curriculum for medical staff at any stage of their career, who wishes to get a proof of knowledge on rare respiratory diseases. It consists of Webinars and eCases, but also includes on-site training in ERN-LUNG Centers. We call for applications from participants of EU-member States from September to November each year. Classes start in January. If you wish to apply for next year’s class, please send a letter of motivation to info@ern-lung.eu

ERN-LUNG Online advance system

The EXpert Advisory BOard (EXABO) is a pan-European internet platform, which has been developed in the context of ERN-LUNG in liaison with the Medical Informatics Group of University Hospital Frankfurt, to answer questions on all aspects of rare respiratory diseases. The platform is primarily aimed at patients and care team members but is openly accessible by anyone who wants to ask a related question.

CONSCIOUS II Autumn Course in Clinical Trials

Clinical trials are essential for the development and approval of new drugs, therapies, and medical devices. Despite its importance, the highly regulated and ever-changing environment can be daunting for early-career researchers. The CONSCIOUS II Autumn Course aims to address this by providing comprehensive training for trialists of the 21st century on the following topics. The course will be based on team-based learning, hands-on activities, and extensive and practically oriented discussions.

  • Clinical Trials Designs, Clinical Trials Methodology and Research
  • Trial Management
  • Quality and Regulatory Affairs
  • Pharmacovigilance and Study Medication
  • Pediatric Clinical Trials
  • Leadership for principal invesigators of the 21st century
  • Collaboration with CZECRIN/ECRIN: Opportunities to partner with CZECRIN and ECRIN for support in managing academically initiated clinical studies will be discussed.

The CONSCIOUS II is an educational three-year project, co-funded by the ERASMUS+ programme of the European Union, conducted in a consortium of six European universities. It aims to develop the skills necessary to conduct high-quality academic clinical trials as well as the skills to effectively disseminate the results obtained.
